Becoming Johanna Milker
Hello and welcome to the Johanna Milker Blog.
Here's a little bit about the woman behind the keyboard.

The J.M. Blog was born out of my training to become a midwife and later my personal journey of becoming a mum. I found I needed a structured approach to collate my thoughts, feelings and knowledge.

As I start this blog, I am 23, I live in Australia, and I am married to my best friend Matthew (often referred to as 'hot husband'). I own a very sassy cat who will no doubt make appearances in photos. And I am excited to see where the J.M Blog takes me. Let's be real, probably no further than typing stories at my kitchen table, but that is perfectly fine by me (so long as I have a cuppa tea nearby).

Johanna Milker isn't my birth name, but it’s the name I've chosen to represent me as I write on all things pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding and babies. Johanna was my beautiful, Dutch, grandmother (pictured with me as a baby). We called her Oma. Sweet Oma cherished my young girlhood, and enthusiastically celebrated my transition into womanhood. Whilst she was no longer earth side when I journeyed into motherhood, I have been able to share in one of her simple yet sweet, legacies. My Oma Johanna was proudly known as a "Milker". Her breastmilk supply was SO abundant that she fed other babies in need, in addition to her own 5 children. My middle name is Johanna, and it appears that I too, am a Milker.

My hope is that the content shared here will serve as nourishment for you, the reader. Whilst naturally I anticipate the main audience will be women, I hope that the J.M Blog can inform, provoke, inspire and comfort all readers from all paths of life. The story of women, pregnancy, birth and babies is far reaching and very important; likely to affect each and every one of us in one way or another. And whilst this might not be the prettiest, most professional blog on the spot... it will offer something worthwhile.
I hope you'll stay and have a poke around.

All the very best and God bless.
J.M.
